Youth Activities
St. Paul’s Youth Ministry exists to provide for junior high and high school students alike what a church provides for adults: a place where people are brought into the life-transforming presence of God. We endeavour to meet the various needs of the youth, from the parish and the outlying community, by providing opportunities for friendship, worship, teaching, guidance, service, and ministry to others. This is done through programs consisting of Sunday morning youth groups, retreats, social and recreational events, school IMPACT groups, service projects and personal contacts. Our goal is to provide a strategic, intentional, purposeful and Biblical ministry that can effectively reach teens of every spiritual level, and successfully see them attain their potential in Christ.
Sunday Morning Youth Group is offered in “The Upper Room” at both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. The youth come together to explore God’s word through Biblical teachings and scripture. Opportunities are provided to teach the youth how to work together in the understanding and application of God’s truth in every day life. Instruction and discipleship are important at St. Paul’s and we encourage all youth to join in this time of fellowship.
SPYouth Group meets consistently twice per month, on a Sunday from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. These meetings offer the youth the opportunity to spend some time together socially, while working their way through an understanding of God’s word and its relevance to them as individuals, as a group within the church and as part of society. In the past, the youth have studied Lee Strobel’s “The Case for Faith”. SPYouth Group is an informal gathering in which St. Paul’s encourages the teens to work together in exploring and confirming their faith, while constantly being challenged by not only their Christianity, but by their peers and their roles in today’s society.
Some of the activities the youth take part in include:
- Service Projects/Missions: Food Bank, 30-hour Famine, Youth/Parent Mission Trips, Arms of Jesus, Service at the Scott Mission, Mission Fest and Mission Wednesday
- Outreach Events: Church Picnic, God Rocks, Ajax-Pickering Youth Network
- Group-Building Fun: Drumming Workshop with Christian Harvey, The Tourney, Caribbean Night, Wasaga Beach and Paintball, The All-Nighter!
- Spiritual Growth & Renewal: Snowflake Youth Conference, Faith Remixed, Unified Rally, Today’s Teens Conference, Change Conference, Transform Canada Retreat

Each month, a Children and Youth Ministry events calendar is available and offers details about the different activities going on within this important ministry.
